THE NEED
Severe postoperative or hospital-related complications often go undetected in general wards due to infrequent and manual monitoring. This contributes to avoidable harm, delayed responses, and inefficient use of healthcare resources.
THE SOLUTION
WARD-CSS uses CE-marked wireless sensors and AI to deliver real-time, automated vital-sign monitoring and predictive alerts directly to clinicians’ smartphones – identifying both risk and stability to support faster response and smarter resource allocation.

PROJECT SUMMARY
Up to 30% of hospitalised patients experience serious complications, yet most go undetected in general wards. WARD-CSS is a wireless, AI-based clinical support system that continuously monitors vital signs to detect patient deterioration earlier and more accurately than traditional systems.
The technology reduces false alerts by 90%, saving clinicians time and enabling earlier interventions. It has been tested in 10+ departments across Denmark, and is now scaling internationally with sites in Europe and the US.
CLINICAL IMPACT
The system increases patient safety, reduces complication severity, and improves staff efficiency. It outperforms existing methods by significantly reducing false alerts and shortening hospital stays. Patients report feeling safer and more reassured.
