THE NEED
Heart failure leads to over 1 million hospitalizations annually in both the US and Europe, with high post-discharge readmission rates. Current home monitoring tools, such as daily weight and symptom scoring, are coarse and often detect deterioration too late, resulting in avoidable hospital admissions and worse patient outcomes.
THE SOLUTION
We will develop an AI-based stethoscope capable of detecting subtle lung fluid accumulation, enabling early and precise home-based monitoring. Patients will be guided to adjust decongestion therapy before symptoms escalate. This proactive approach builds on validated AI detection algorithms and existing clinical knowledge.

PROJECT SUMMARY
AI Pulmonary for Heart Failure is an automated home surveillance system using AI-assisted stethoscope technology to detect early signs of fluid accumulation in the lungs. It aims to prevent deterioration and reduce hospitalizations among heart failure patients through timely home interventions.
CLINICAL IMPACT
The solution will reduce hospitalizations, improve home-based care, and enhance patient quality of life by preventing severe episodes of heart failure. Early detection and intervention are expected to decrease healthcare costs significantly and improve survival rates among heart failure patients.
