THE NEED
BED is the most common eating disorder in Denmark, yet there is no public treatment offer and limited clinical evidence to guide care. High-quality research is urgently needed to close this gap and improve outcomes.
THE SOLUTION
Four psychotherapy interventions will be tested in a large-scale clinical trial with 360 patients. Two are new Danish approaches; two are adapted from international best practice. The project will produce validated, accessible treatment manuals and inform future clinical guidelines.

PROJECT SUMMARY
This project launches the world’s largest RCT for Binge Eating Disorder, the only eating disorder in Denmark without public treatment. It tests four therapy methods to find what works best, aiming to guide national care and make treatment manuals freely available, ensuring long-term impact and access.
CLINICAL IMPACT
The study will help provide effective, accessible treatment for up to 300,000 Danish adults living with BED. It will reduce healthcare inequality and support the implementation of national guidelines for BED treatment.
