THE NEED
Hearing loss affects 800,000 people in Denmark, but only 300,000 use hearing aids—leaving many with untreated hearing loss that reduces quality of life. As most users are 65+, an ageing population will further increase demand. Despite previous efforts to reduce waiting times, capacity challenges remain. There is a clear need for new technologies and workflows to ensure timely, accessible, and efficient hearing care.
THE SOLUTION
The solution enables patients to perform a clinically validated hearing test themselves, with the same quality as traditional methods. It frees up audiologists’ time, reduces waiting times, and minimizes the need for repeated tests. The solution improves patients’ hearing function and quality of life from the first visit and contributes to a more efficient use of healthcare resources.

PROJECT SUMMARY
The project focuses on implementing a solution that automates hearing examinations for clinical use, making them easily accessible to patients. The test is currently being piloted at one site, where results are used directly to fit hearing aids—helping to avoid unnecessary delays for individuals with hearing loss.
CLINICAL IMPACT
The solution improves hearing function and quality of life for patients from the very first visit. It reduces waiting times and lowers the need for repeated testing. By streamlining the use of audiologists’ time and expertise, the solution helps relieve bottlenecks in the healthcare system and supports more efficient, patient-centered hearing care.
